BAKE SALE

Our Kindergarten & 1 st grade classes will be hosting our last after school bake sale of the year this Friday May 16 th .   Please come by and pick out some delicious treats.   All proceeds go toward the Teacher Appreciation Dinner.

 

FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS WE NEED YOU!!!!

A sign up sheet was sent home for our Field Day event which will be held on June 4 th .   Please fill out the volunteer form and return it as soon as possible.   We need parent volunteers to help set up, run the booths and clean up.    The kids look forward to field day and it is a great way to end the year.   We depend on our parents to help us with these special events.   If we do not get enough parent volunteers we will not be able to have them.

 

Also, do you have a talent for face painting, spin art, etc. . .?   If you do,   and are willing to run a booth using your talent during Field Day, please write that information at the bottom of the Field Day volunteer form that was sent home.

 

SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION

We are now accepting registrations for our Summer School Program.   If you will be attending summer school please complete your registration that was sent home last week and return it with the $100.00 registration fee as soon as possible.  

 

FALL REGISTRATION

Our registration is open and we look forward to next year.   We will be having Kindergarten through 6 th grade for the 2008-2009 school year .   We would like to give our current families priority to register for the fall.   Please complete your registration papers ASAP and return them along with the registration fee of $605.00 to secure a spot for your child.   For those who have split their registration payment, the 2 nd part of the payment is due on June 1 st .     Please keep in mind that your child’s spot is not secure until the entire registration fee is paid.

PTF HOT DOG LUNCH

We will be having our last PTF Hot Dog Lunch of the year on Friday, May 9 th .   The cost for 1 hot dog, chips, ice cream and a drink is $5.00.   An extra hot dog will cost $1.00 more.   Please send in your money as soon as possible in an envelope marked with your child’s name.   Because this is a fundraiser for our teacher appreciation dinner, lunch tickets will not be accepted .   Thank you for supporting our teachers.

 

ATTENTION AWANA CLUBBERS:

Come to our Awana awards night this coming Tuesday, May 13 th at 7:00 p.m.   Your child will be receiving an award for their accomplishments made throughout the year. DINNER WILL NOT BE SERVED!

SILENT AUCTION THIS SATURDAY AT 5:00 P.M.

Thanks to all of our wonderful families our Silent Auction attendance and donations are busting at the seams.   We could use some Dads to help set up tables on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.   You can also earn some service hours by volunteering for clean up duty after the auction.   We look forward to a very fun evening.

 

WE NEED YOUR PICTURES!!!

We are in the process of preparing our yearbook and we need your pictures.  

Please send in your pictures that are school related; The Christmas show, character day, field trips, candid school shots, etc( last years field day pictures are fine).   Because we use a digital program to prepare our yearbook, we need all submitted pictures on a CD if possible.   Thank you for your help.

GROOMING POLICY REMINDER

We would like to remind you of our policy about the allowed length of boy’s hair.   As per page 7 in our student/parent handbook, boy’s hair should not touch their collar or cover their ears.   Thank you in advance for your prompt attention in this matter.

EASTER CAMP

We will have Easter Camp available during our break March 24 th – 28 th .   There is a sign up sheet in the hallway outside Mrs. O’Rourke’s classroom. You will need to sign up by March 14 h if you plan on attending.   If we do not have a minimum of 12 children sign up we will not be able to have the camp.

We will be practicing every Tuesday & Thursday beginning at 8:15 a.m. for our Easter musical which will be presented at the Silent Auction March 15 th .   Please have your child here on those days by 8:10.   During the Silent Auction dinner and auction all Academy students will attend a pizza & movie party.

 

TALENT SHOW IS APRIL 10 TH AT 7 p.m.

The talent show is approaching fast.   It is time to start putting your acts together.   Start looking now for a Christian or Patriotic song to sing or play on the piano (or to accompany your gymnastics routine, etc.) Tryouts will be starting soon, have your music ready or ask Pastor Johnson for an accompaniment track.

TOP CLASS COMPETITION      

The class that turns in the most box tops from February 1 st to March 14 th will get to bake St. Patricks Day   cookies on St. Patricks Day with the Box Top Prince during lunch time. So keep on collecting..

What is AWANA?   AWANA is a Bible based, Christ centered non-denominational program committed to ministering to children from 3yrs – 12 th grade.   The weekly clubs promote an atmosphere filled with fun and excitement! We will meet every Tuesday from 6:25-8:00 p.m .   The cost is 40.00 per year and includes dues, uniform and books.   You also have the option of keeping your child here for dinner.   Shel Smith (our AWANA Commander) will pick the kids up from daycare at 5:30 p.m. and feed them dinner.   All you need to do is send $4.00 with your child for the meal.

REMINDER…HOT LUNCH PRICE HAS INCREASED

This is just a reminder that the price of lunch has increased to $6.00.   This change went into effect on February 1 st .

FALL REGISTRATION

As of February 1st we will opened our registration to the public. We would like to give our current families priority to register for the fall.   Please complete your registration papers ASAP and return them along with the registration fee of $605.00 to secure a spot for your child.   If you would like to pay your registration fee in two payments we will accept $300.00 now and $305.00 by June 1 st 2008.   Please keep in mind that your child’s spot is not secure until the entire registration fee is paid.   We will not be able to accept registration papers that do not include at least the first installment of the registration fee.

 

EARLY PICK UP

If you need to pick up your child early from school please give your teacher a 24 hour warning.   This enables the teacher to put together your child’s work ahead of time without holding up the entire class.

 

VALENTINES DAY CANDY GRAMS

We will be selling Valentines Day candy grams on February 11 th & 12 th after school. These make great Valentines for the whole class, teachers and friends.   Candy grams are 50 cents each.   All the proceeds from this sale will go toward the Teacher Appreciation Dinner.

If you have not signed this form, there is one attached to the newsletter for you.   We need them returned by Thursday the 24 th.

 

PTF PIZZA LUNCH

Friday, February 1 st we will be having another PTF Pizza Lunch.   The cost for 1 slice of pizza, carrots w/ranch, drink and ice cream is $5.00.   Extra slices of pizza are $1.00 each.   Because this is a fundraiser to raise money for the Teacher Appreciation Dinner, we will not be accepting lunch tickets

 

RE-GIFTING ANYONE?

Did you receive a wonderful gift for Christmas that just doesn’t fit your hour or your life?   We would appreciate your new gift for the Silent Auction.   Please bring it to the school office and fill out a donor slip.   It is tax deductible.

 

SPELLING BEE            

We would like to congratulate the winners and the runners up of our school spelling bee.   The winners will continue on to compete in Camarillo at the ACSI competition on January 25 th .   In the event that the 1 st place winner is unable to compete in the spelling bee the runner up will then take his or her place.   So please make sure that they continue to study.    

 

TALENT SHOW IS APPROACHING FAST..

The talent show is approaching fast.   It is time to start putting your acts together.   Remember Christian acts only.   More information will follow in the coming weeks.

 

YEAR BOOK PICTURES

We are in the process of preparing our yearbook and we need your pictures.  

Please send in your pictures that are school related; character day, field trips, candid school shots, etc.   Because we use a digital program to prepare our yearbook, we need all submitted pictures on a CD.   Thank you for your help.

 

TOP CLASS COMPETITION      

Keep on collecting those box tops.   The class that collects the most box tops by January 31 st will win a free dress day.

 

FAMILY RECIPES NEEDED

Please bring your family’s favorite recipes in for a cookbook we will be putting together.   If you would like to participate please submit only family recipes by January 31 st .

What is AWANA?   AWANA is a Bible based, Christ centered non-denominational program committed to ministering to children from 3yrs – 12 th grade.   The weekly clubs promote an atmosphere filled with fun and excitement! BAKE SALE

Our first bake sale of the year will be this Friday January 18 th after school.   Our Kindergarten and 1 st grade classes will be hosting it.   Please come by and purchase some yummy treats!

SILENT AUCTION The Silent Auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year and it is coming up fast.   The date for this event is Saturday, March 15, 2008 so please mark your calendars for a great family gathering.
